Visual Storytelling

“If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten.”

-Rudyard Kipling

Step 1: Brainstorming

Let’s warm up our memories and connections.
Topic: Childhood Memories
Topic: Travel
Topic: Cars

Step 2: Getting the Words Down

Composition time! We are going to follow the simple story arc.
Set the scene, show the highest action (conflict, climax), and resolution (what was learned, garnered).

Step 3: Gather & Edit Visual Assets

Take this time to search for images, take images, and save to the camera roll.
Use a few programs, like Snapseed to enhance/ edit your photos.

Step 4: Putting the Pieces Together

Let’s use a few common apps in order to assemble, record and publish our visual story.

Adobe Voice

Create visual stories, explanations, persuasive videos easily with this app.
This app also has full access to the noun project images, so messages can be clearly understood without too much visual clutter.

30Hands

Create movie files from pictures and audio.
Record audio clips directly onto each picture.
Export as a movie to Camera Roll.

Puppet Pals

An alternative to using your own photos. It allows for storytelling in a different way.
